    Thank you very much for making this video. I really liked the "trial and error" approach you give it, going over very basic but very necessary things. Showing small details and factors that influence how to treat edges in Watercolor, when we want to soften them 😉😁👍😍👏.

      It’s almost the same (: But the paint will usually flow less, the more layers you already have on paper. It’s one of those things you have to experience and develop a touch for 🎨😉

    Hii, i'd like to ask what palette are you using?

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan 22 години тому

      I’m using a Mijello 18 wells airtight palette (the larger one), and a Schmincke tin palette. But the contents are completely custom (: The Mijello one has mostly Daniel Smith paints, and the smaller one is Mission Gold.

    I’m glad you added at the end that it’s ok to trace and paint. (I do that a lot in order to be accurate). But this video actually encourages me to try drawing something by just looking at it. Thank you so much for sharing some great advice and techniques to use to achieve accurate results.

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan 22 години тому

      Thank you 😊 Funny enough, sometimes it’s more practical to simply draw from observations instead of tracing. It’s mostly those instances when I end up drawing without tracing (:

    😂 you made me smile! And i was not in such a mood to… you are the watercolors magician turning cars into fruits salad!😃😉 Seriously… you are so brightly clear in your demos! And you relieve stress even for me who is a beginner… it is so true. The best friend of Colors is water, in watercolors!😉🫶 My comment has no interest except to thank you.🙏 Have a nice colorful day!🌸🦄🌸 Ps: do you print your reference photo or watch it on a screen ? And do you advice (if one day I want to try realism) as I m a beginner to watch the photo in blacks & whites too?

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan 22 години тому

      Thank you so so much 😊🙏🏼🙏🏼 I think ideally printing is a little better for seeing the colors on a real page, whereas on the screen they can appear lighter and harder to mix. But, I usually just look at the screen 😅 As for black & white - it’s very optional. Some will find it useful, others may find it confusing… experiment (:

    I love your watercolor philosophy. You try to break down the barriers in our minds. I get it. We don’t have to follow the conventional rules on watercolor to achieve a masterpiece or just a great painting. What we need is a solid understanding of watercolor and how it works. Then we can arrive at the destination through whatever methods we choose. Your approach and thought process has helped me tremendously in refining my own style. ❤

    I am new to watercolor painting and love this green with the phthalo blue, but I’m confused.. When I looked to buy a tube it seems to come as phthalo blue green or phthalo blue red. Is there a brand that has just phthalo blue? If not, am I correct that the blue green version would result in the results you show? Thank you.

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan 22 години тому

      I believe mine was actually a Red Shade actually 😅 But I will say - for a more accurate result, the superior version is indeed the green shade (though it’s not a huge difference). I believe some brands do only have one version, but not sure which ones of the top of my head (:

    Such an awesome method! I actually vaguely discovered this method when observing/drawing cubes in 2/3 point perspective w/ vanishing points. I noticed the most forward facing vertex would change in size/angle. I could sort of understand how to manipulate these changes to create cubes in different positions, but this method made it SO much easier. Thank you so so much!!
